August 1st is my traditional start date for hopper fishing...I have attached pictures of the first 2 fish that I landed today on dry hopper patterns, Size 10, Foam Bodied. These are also the first pictures that I have ever taken with my phone...so I apologize for the poor quality pictures.

I am fortunate to fish for an hour or so every day that the weather/water permit.

Best Regards, Bob

I think it's going to be a good hopper year in Idaho too!

30 years ago I went with Don Rotsma and Rick Jorgensen on their annual trip to Idaho/Montana.

I think I got to go because I had just bought a new Chevy Suburban.

Put a boat on top and towed a tent trailer.

We went to the Missouri River when it was kind of just getting popular.

In the afternoons we had big gusts of wind that blew hoppers off the high bluffs and the fish were eating them like crazy.

That looks like a fun day.

Had a blast out there a few months back- Used a purple chubby dry and got fish then on top.

Your post just made my morning while I choke down a so so breakfast in south sf.

Bill was right. Retire as soon as you can!
