Hi All,
I was in Reno working on Friday so I stopped in to fish a few hours on my way home. First of all the lake is filled to the top. Lots of clean, clear, cold water. There had been a trout plant on Thursday. The air was clean and a bit cooler than the valley. I spoke with 2 guys from the Tri Valley Fly club out of Pleasanton that were up to fish for the weekend. There were a few kayaks and 1 other float tube. I used small Black Woolly Buggers (size 12) and Sheeps Creek Specials, with 4"-6" strip and quick retrieve. I stopped counting at 20 but would guess and 25-28 fish in the net.

I was on the water about 2:30 and off at about 7.

Best day ever in a float tube.

If you can go, now is the time!!!
Good luck, Rich K (CFFU)

Remember- Nothing happens til someone throws a fly in the water!!

I would get up to Fuller Lake ASAP.

It might be very slow after the end of July.

It is about 1.5 hours from Sacramento.

A canoe, float tube, kayak, pontoon boat or small car top boat would be a big help.

A weight forward clear slow sinking line is very popular on lakes besides a Weight forward floater.

it is always a good day to be on the water. Yours was special.

I have a pontoon boat and might go Monday or Tuesday. Is it difficult to get to the water?

Thanks

Hi John, it's a drive up lake. 2 put ins, one at each end of the lake. Very easy. Good luck.

This guy came out to play Saturday afternoon at Fuller. Also got some planter bows.

That's what I love about Fuller. There's always the opportunity to hook into one of these monsters.

Went up to Fuller Lake this weekend. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected wader failure I didn't get out in the tube. I still managed to pull in a few small (8"-ish) stockers while walking the bank for a half-hour. All the powerbait folks fishing from shore were catching fish and I saw that were occasionally getting fish in the 12"-14" range.

CADFW had stocked Fuller early last week and the fish were plentiful and very hungry. Fuller could probably be OK again this weekend as long as the catch & keep people haven't cleaned it out in the meantime.
