When I was fishing up at the Yuba last week, I came across this piece of burl ( I guess) that was laying on a gravel bar in the river. It had apparently been caught in a wash somewhere, and had a finish to it that looked like it had been sanded with 320 grit sandpaper. I thought the wood looked pretty cool, so at the end of the day I hoofed it back to the Jeep with me and took it home. The wood is about 3' long to put it in perspective.

I took it to work and put 1 coat of vinyl sanding sealer, then 4 top coats of semi-gloss lacquer on it to bring out the color. Here is the beauty that this thing turned into . . .

Now I have to figure out what I make this thing into, if anything else. Maybe I'll crack a brew and ponder this some more . . .

Awesome Awesome find there! If you didn't sound so interested in it, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

If you hunt, that would be an awesome base to start a collection of European Mount skulls. Coyote, Fox, Raccoon, Deer, Bear...etc.
