Confession - I fish exclusively floating lines. I own one sinking spey head - a Rio Scandi Body intermediate, and I haven't used it yet. I guess I also have a Rio hover line, but I don't use it much except very occasionally at Lake Davis. When I've found myself needing to "get down", I just used a versileader. I think I need to get more sophisticated.

I am looking for a versatile sinking tip line for fishing streamers in the Truckee and various lakes, and especially for stripping flies at Pyramid Lake where I am completely out of my game. I want something that casts easily and doesn't feel clunky. Likely I will buy a #6 or #7 line.

I have heard good things about the Rio OBS. I have also heard decent things about the SA streamer express. But really I have no idea what I need or am looking for. Help?

PV,
We use sinktips for our surf fishing; occasionally @ Crowley, as well. Usually, the Rio striper line which has a 24 -ft
sinktip and we prefer the intermediate running section in the surf. Rio is now making an In-Touch version which has a 30-
ft sink tip.. Also has an price increase of $10. My advice is to go the the Kiene shop and talk to the guys. They might even
have some to try out. The "clunkiness" is mostly a thing of the past. Back around 2000, the best line was the Teeny
sinktip (courtland) because it had the smoothest transition from sink to running line. Rio and Airflo lines hinged badly
back then. Nowadays, they all put out a decent product.
Best,
