For the last few weeks I've been getting calls for more of my stripping baskets than ever. The rains seem to have slowed down, the river levels have dropped, and there are lots of trailers at the parking lots next to the boat ramps. On Bob Simms radio show Saturday mornings there are reports of quite a few sturgeon being caught in the still muddy water, but, there are a few stripers being taken too.
So it's time to get your boat out of storage and start going over everything that needs fixing. And if you haven't already got a good stripping baskets for the boat, head over to Kiene's Fly Shop now as they just got an order in of one of the best stripping baskets made. :) Yes, this is a plug for the baskets I make :)
I've been getting orders too from the steelhead guys with drift boats. I make these baskets a little smaller and scaled down but with all the same features of my full size baskets.
My wife says it's getting crowded in the garage and I need to move some of baskets out. If you live in the greater Sacramento area Kiene's is the place to go for them. If you live out of the area you can call or write me direct for special orders or colors applications.
