Just picked this up and looking for a dry line to match up to it. I have been 2H casting for a couple of years with a Meiser 11'-7" 5/6/7; 400-600 gr. For a Skagit I'm going with the RioMax in 585 gr. having heard good things about that pairing.
This is going to be my big water rod and I'm considering going with a longer head for a dry line than I've been using, something in the 40-50' range. This desire to fish longer belly lines is one of the reasons I got this rod.
The Nextcast FF45 or Ballistic Vector intrigue me. Anyone have any experience with this rod and longer belly lines?

The Nextcast 45 7/8 would be a good test for you.

Thanks Terry...

I am looking to do that too.

Is that a head or full line?

They are all heads. Simon stopped producing full lines a couple years back.

Per Nextcast website, right now there are none (FF45) in stock; called the website number and was told maybe March. Picked up a Rio InTouch Short Head Spey off another forum for $60, NIB. At 42' head, it's a start. If I like it I may go up to the Nextcast or gaelforce in 55'.

The Vector you mention above is a very nice line. Easy to cast, and a nice layout to deliver the fly. If you prefer a head, the Beulah Aero is another great line.
