I'm a Lamson LP nut. I just counted and I have:
2 LP 1's
3 LP 1.5's
1 LP 1.5 lite (click and pawl, not a fan but it never breaks)
2 LP 2's.
I love these reels, one of my clutches is about to die. I'm starting to look at the Bauer reels because they are light and I love light reels, I fish 3wt reels on 5wt rods. But if I could buy just a few backup clutches I think I'd be using the original lamson LPs for the rest of my life.
Thanks if you can help me out. And the one that I think is about to die, here is why. On a well performing clutch I can reel in a bunch of slack line but just sort of wacking the outside of the reel to spin it (I'm sure you guys do that too, I learned it from one of you). The reel that is so so has a clutch where it doesn't spin.
I'm inclined to soak it in some cleaning fluid and then soak it in some fairly light oil and see if it gets better. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
