Winters Salmon Festival on Putah Creek

Tomorrow, starting at 10AM, is the Winters Salmon Festival.

There will be bands, festivities etc. There will also be fly tying and fly casting for beginners at the event. Come check it out. Should be fun.

After much work by Putah Creek Council and Solano County Water Agency Salmon have been returning to Winters. Putah Creek Trout is also having a silent auction and helping out with fly fishing related events. Davis Fly Fishers is also working to help out.

Wish I was in California so I could go....


Before the dam was built to create Lake Berryessa many King salmon and Steelhead use to spawn in the upper reaches of Putah Creek.

Over the year when Fall rains were high I would hear about salmon at the base of the dam at Lake Solano on Putah Creek.
