Andy had a client land 7 nice Half-pounder Steelhead on the Lower American River recently.
6 of them were from 15 to 20 inches which are nice fish.
Andy said they are scattered all up and down the river.

One of the best evening I had in the Fall on the lower 'A' was many years ago when they lowered the river to 500 cfs for a day or two to work on the salmon rack for the fish ladder at the Natomas Hatchery.
I was above Watt avenue bridge a few 100 yards up in the clay banks swinging a caddis pupa.
I guess the water warmed up and the caddis were really coming off thick and lots of fish were feeding on them.
So today it is around 1,000 cfs so I wound get out in the evening with some caddis pupa and caddis dries in size 14.
