Terry Gunn, guide, author and co-owner (with wife Wendy Gunn) of Lees Ferry Anglers had a massive heart attack on Friday. Bottom line: as of today he’s very good, but it was hairy moment or two.
He was at home in Kanab (about 50 miles from Lees Ferry) and fell ill. He thought it was a bad reaction to a flu shot he had earlier in the week. So he went to the hospital in Kanab and they immediately called in a helicopter for a flight to St. George. They got there within the two hour life-or-death time frame … but barely. The cardiology team put stents in his arteries or wherever they’re supposed to go and he was placed in the ICU. I think he moves from ICU to the regular heart unit today or tomorrow.
