Last shad of the season?

Rich Plath landed one while testing out lines on a new spey rod. Floating line with matuka. We were shocked as we both figured it had to be a pike minnow, striper or even a half pounder.

There's always a few hanging around. Got a couple of small males trying for steelhead a week ago mid-river. Andy told me his friend caught some at Sailor Bar too.

Caught one pretty good sized male yesterday afternoon at Sailor Bar fishing for half-pounders. Definitely unexpected.
