The east walker river has rebounded nicely after a devastating 3+ years of drought. That isn't saying its what it once was, but I keep coming back and its productive if you cover water and read the environment. 122581225912260 Flows are dropping and currently it was a tad under 100 when I was out there but its down into the 80's now and will start to drop as summer ends and fall begins. You need to bring a thermometer. I took a reading at 7am and the water was 59-60 but at 12 it was 68 which is time to get off. I hit the west walker a little on the way home and that water is still cold in the canyon. It its truly a freestone stream.

EW fish are keying on damsel flies, SJ Worms, Rainbow Warriors, and Crayfish patterns. It was nice to see a lot of healthy smaller fish both browns and rainbows. I had a hopper/dropper setup in addition to a nymphing one and the smaller dumber fish will gladly take the surface fly. Been since the spring when I fooled a big bring on a skwala dry.

Here are some pics.
