Isla Del Sabalo / Campeche Special Combo Trip July 2017

I am planning a group trip to the Mexican Yucatan where we have been going for about 20 years now.

After searching the tropics for over 30 years I finally found the best Baby Tarpon fishing in the world.

Our trip will be 6 days guided fishing / 7 nights lodging & meals.

Two anglers to a room and two anglers to a boat.

We fly from Sacramento to Merida, MX on July 22, 2017.

They pick us up at the airport and drive us from Merida to Isla Del Sabalo that evening.

Isla Del Sabalo is a very small remote fishing village.

We fish the 23, 24 and 25 out of Isla Del Sabalo.

On July 26 we fish from Isla Del Sabalo to Campeche, about 50 miles of wild remote coastline. This will be one of the most exciting days of your life.

Then we fish 27 & 28 out of Campeche.

Campeche is a beautiful small coastal city with nice local restaurants.

We go back to Merida on the evening of the 28, overnight there and fly home on July 29.

Host is Bill Kiene plus 7 lucky anglers.

Cost is $3,955.00

Depsosit = 50% = $2,000.00

Airfare is about $500.00 +

Let me know if you are interested in going with me. I have 5 spots left.

went to Isla Del sabalo for a few last year. Liked it a lot except for the food. food was up and down. I then went to Tarpon Cay for 4 days. Loved it.

Lots of friends go to Campeche. All like it.

Are you spending the transfer day fishing all the way down from Sabalo to Campeche

Sounds like a great trip.

Yes Tony

I actually convinced Marco to add this combo trip to their program.

We have done it twice before.

Yes, we fish from Sabalo to Campeche....in one day.

They take all our gear by land.

It is about 60 miles but we fish the middle water that is never touched.

Some of it we run flat out for miles though.....

I can start shaking thinking about how cool it is going to be.

* I will tell Marco we need better food at remote Isla Del Sabalo.

Food in Campeche is the Yucatan's finest.

Had a chat with Jim Christensen at the shop today.

He is one of the best fly fishers I know.

Jim just returned from Isla Del Sabalo where he has been going for the past 5 summers.

He said that Marco has improved the food.

Jim says that Marco has the fishing and the tides dialed in more sense the last time I went.

If anyone want to go by the shop on a Monday they can talk with Jim Christensen who is an expert at all types of fly fishing, especially baby Tarpon in the Yucatan.

Come to the shop on Monday, August 29, 2016, if you want to talk about travel with Jim Christensen and myself.

Jim has been going to the Yucatan for several decades and he has been going to Isla del Sabalo for the past 5 summers.

Jim is going to get me up to date with Isla del Sablo on Monday.

Hope to see you there.....

Expert saltwater fly fisher Jim Christensen is helping me get together a selection of his favorite Yucatan Baby Tarpon flies for my trip.

We have five signed up for the trip so I have three spots left.

After 30 years of searching, this is the finest Baby Tarpon destination we have found.

Let me know if you are interested in this wonderful trip.

That is going to be one great trip. In my opinion, it doesn't get much better than tarpon on a fly rod.
I would love to go, but I'm sure my dermatologist would put the kibosh on that.
