How to bring back the salmon and steelhead in our rivers?

First, keep removing defunct dams that have no further use.

In the past 100 years we dammed up ~99% of the West Coast rivers.

I don't care if it takes hundreds of years for these river to clean up.

Eliminate salmon and steelhead hatcheries........these fish just ruin the wild stocks of fish we sill have.

Catch-n-release all steelhead because they will be wild.

We had runs of wild steelhead and wild salmon to rival Canada and Alaska over 100 years ago.





This is not what the water people want though.............

The hatcheries around the central valley were put in to mitigate loss of spawning habitat caused by the dams.
