Is ANYONE fishing the American right now?

With the high flows I'm almost completely avoiding it tight now. Is anyone successfully fishing it right now? I sure do hope the flows come down some more very soon.

I had an epic day on the AR yesterday, but I wasn't fishing for trout...

Lots of fish mostly staged 100-300yds up or down river from your favorite hole this time last year...

And soon, you'll need to adjust again~

It is Striper time now........August/September.

Half-pounder Steelhead usually show up in late August with September being a big month.

These runs vary year to year. It is an early and late thing for most.

We will keep you posted as long as you don't eat our fish.

Hahahaha~ I wasn't tryin' to bait anyone.

I was pluggin' for stripers.

There is always a fish to catch on the AR but one doesn't catch them by waiting until a certain season or until the flows are perfect or until s/he sees multiple positive reports or a news story on teevee...

Go out and fish and be mindful that fish are transitory and hold where they are comfortable and that is most greatly influenced by the flows.

This is one of my favorite times of the year to fish and not because of the numbers of fish but because it is AFTER the madness of SHAD-OW-MANIA and BEFORE the insanity of SALMON-FLOSSA-PALOOZA.

I can actually find a stretch of water that hasn't been bludgeoned/terrorized~
