Excellent condition: smooth and tight, with that classic click-and-pawl sound; slight finish flaking on back plate, very minor rash on two of the four spools. Black (actually dark charcoal gray), 4.40 ounces. Fits 6 - 8 weight lines, and would be perfect with a trout switch rod. In a padded handgun case. $400 including delivery in the U. S., $15 more for Canada.

Back story: I bought the reel and spools in 1974, and fitted them with lines for my trout lake fishing. This and my other CFOs have fared well, though I've always worried about them knocking around inside boats; so I'm switching to Pflueger Medalists, an inexpensive and durable reel system.

I'm sorry that I'm unable to take or send photos. I assume you're familiar with the black (or very dark gray) finish CFO reels. The real has a few small finish flakes on the back plate, in total, about the size of a pinky nail. Two of the spools have a small amount of rim rash, and two are essentially like-new. All four fit and turn smoothly.

The CFO V reel by itself is vintage tackle of enduring interest and appeal. With the three extra spools, it's a system that would be hard to duplicate. And there's time to give the other angler in your life a unique and personal gift, in time for Christmas. The price is lowered to $375.
