Has been/is very active over the past 3 weeks. All of these storms have generated off the coast of southern, mainland Mexico. Each week there seems to be at least 3 storms (low pressure, tropical storms and hurricanes) going at one time. There've been at least 6 named hurricanes since the beginning of the season. Fortunately, they all drift out into the Pacific or just wear themselves out. However, during the fall, the historic storm track turns in over Baja. As a result, flight delays/cancellations can occur, highway washouts and lots of property damage to hotels, etc., missed fishing days are likely. So, if you're planning a trip down there during that period make sure to get travel insurance.
On the positive side, I really like to watch incoming weather of all types and the run-off from the torrential rains carries lot of debris into the gulf which attracts fish. Can't wait to get back down there.... :cool:
