I'm thinking about fishing the American and I have two questions.

Is it possible to fish Stripers from the shore around Folsom/Citrus Heights?

Second, is the trout fishing on the North Fork any good right now and if so where are some good spots?

In terms of the North Fork, put some boots on and Google Earth the River.

I think the trout fishing in the mid-elevation Sierra trout streams is good right now.

July is usually a good month on a normal year.

August/September might be better up a little higher like 8,000 feet-ish?

Hey Travlar-
It is possible to wade and catch stripers from the shore.. We have been hitting the river a little lower and doing ok with small stripers. It is great fun stripping clousers for them.. they are small, but aggressive. You also still have the possibility of getting into a shad or 2.
