Excuse my ignorance folks; but, why are the Trinity flows still so high? I'm remembering recent years
where fish in the lower Klamath system were stressed in late summer/early fall and even the mouth
was constricted. Why not have lower flows now in anticipation of later needs? Or is it just another
senior moment I'm having. TIA.
Best to ya from Sun Diego. The sand crabs are back in big numbers; now, if the fish would just show up!

The flows on the Trinity are dependent on the type of water year we had. More precipitation = more given to the river. The large flows help move gravel, rocks and wood around.

It's BS. It has ruined the fishing for us locals. Usually I can fish at the beginning of July. I've lost an entire month, and I'm not sure why. Flows wouldn't be this high in July if there wasn't a damn during wet season.
