Not sure how this worked out, but the stars aligned on the LT today. Weather was absolutely perfect; blue skies dotted with cumulus clouds, flows as good as they get, wildflowers in full bloom, and didn't come across a single other person all day. And we happened to find some willing browns and bows to top it off. Rubberlegs and sz 18 S&M's were the go to setup, lots of bugs coming off so I'm sure most anything would work, but "if it ain't broke don't fix it" I guess.

The habitat restoration that TU did up there really is something else. I've been on a fair number of rivers, but there's something really special about the Little Truckee. Glad to see it being so well cared for.

Nice day! You gotta love being able to go down to 4x or so on the LT with flows 300 ish. Don't see those swollen banks that much over the last 4-5 years. Glad to see some of those fish spreading out as well.
Thx for sharing.

It was a nice sight for sure. But....they dropped her in half already.
Nice pictures Gregg. The river looked great in the high 300s.
The big Truckee looks awesome as well.
Man it sure is nice seeing water again in the area.

Yeah I see that morgan. Down into the 180's now but that "Flush" was good and well needed. Did it spread some fish out? Hopefully flows stay in the 150+ range all summer. That is a good level to fish that river. Back to the 5x-6x stuff soon. Damn.

It really was kind of nice to be able to run 4x in some off color water to stick some fish. When it's low and clear I usually get skunked out there. Those fish are smart and strong, which makes for a frustrating fishery haha

Great post! Nice to hear from you again. Going rogue with the beard? Soon to be the Trout Dynasty look. LOL.
Thanks for the report.

Wonderful post Gregg.....

Is that the stretch between Boca and Stampede Reservoirs?

Gregg, don't worry we all get our arse handed to us on the little T in clear water and lower flows. I personally like to fish it in the winter with some light snow. You can get a nice BWO hatch and have fun with rising fish. Plus you rarely see anybody.

Bill, yeah that is the tailwater stretch between Stampede and Boca. Love to see the water spilling on the banks.
