Purple haze running through my brain....

Edit 5-13-16
Blue skies....be a little sneaky...It has switched to early and late....mid-day can be a challenge.
Twice this week I had to seek shade. Feeling a bit like Summer.....
The river came up a bit and is dropping slowly, slightly off color, and green/clear.
Morning is best because of an afternoon melt, up high.....the PM water temp drops a little. 45 deg +
Still chilly for fish to chase streamers....they will start to...you need to feed it to them, not take it away.
Don't wait for the river to come down, big guys are moving.
BWOs are out, March Browns, free range Caddis larva, a few glossisoma flying, Crays, worms.....and of course, midges, eaten all year....
I'm seeing several sz 14 black as well as sz18-20...a large zebra midge should cover it.
The Carpenter Ants are due...
Not an incredible number of noses showing...but this the T, always carry a dry fly rod just in case of a sipper/swirller..
Treat'em nice!

Jim

No need for a follow up with a post....just let it ride please.

We are back to fishy....
Upper river nearer TC is nice.
Flow is wadeable and clear/green.
Water temp ranges 48-58ish........
Wet wading is possible in the afternoon.
Donner creek is high, but below that is pretty and a bit pushy.....
Lower canyon is for more serious waders, bring a bigger stick and a wading staff for more fun/safety..
Clouds and light showers are called for.
But in between, it's blue sky and warm.
Large stone nymphs, BWOs, crays, worms,
Ants are happening.........
Grasshoppers have made an appearance....in the afternoon.
I should mention....the raft companies have started floating the stretch below Boca. Go early or later to miss them.
Have fun, and Treat'em nice.
Jim
