Those of you lamenting the end of steelhead season on the American River in Sacramento might want to switch to stripers or shad. Earlier this week I swung a sexy seam and hooked up with a line-side that cleaned my clock. It had been a few years since I hooked a stripe that pulled like that before taking my whole leader on a snag. Yahoooooo!!!!!!!! Yesterday I caught a nice three pounder. Shad are around the corner.
