I'm having a hard time finding information on converting/building a boat to be more suited for fly fishing. Particularly interested in casting decks. This boat will be mostly used for bass fishing in lakes and the delta. Right now I have a 14' Valco Aluminum V-hull boat with bench seats and lots of extra junk that fly line tends to get wrapped around. I'm thinking of pulling the benches out and building a deck in the front 3/4 of the boat for a fishing/casting platform as well as removing all the other stuff for trolling and lake fishing. Also, any other modifications to the boat that would improve it as a fly fisherman's tool would be very helpful. I'll take any advice that anyone has to offer! Thanks for looking.

Tight lines,
Gary

Hi Gary,

Almost every type of aluminum conversion, problem, solution and idea you can imagine has been tried or addressed by this group many with SBS photo's. It’s a huge data base to mine.

Some great builds, some iffy, but the answers are there.

Good Luck, Dave
