Fishing near Rio de Janiero?

Anyone have any ideas on where to go? Going down there next January-February for a couple weeks. I'm going to be based out of Rio so no trips to the Amazon. On my own or with a guide, just want to catch a some fish!

Hello Reese, I have done some ocean fishing off of Ilha Grande which is a bit south of Rio. I can do some research for you if you want. Been going to Brazil for over 20 years. Would not recommend going on your own. Could be dangerous and will most likely waste a lot of time searching. Will check with some friends and see if they might have contacts in the area. Best to connect with others who speak a bit of English and Portuguese.
