Our April speaker is Trent Pridemore and he will be presenting a program
on Fly Fishing the Upper Water Column for Large and Smallmouth Bass.
His program focuses on the upper water column where bass are much
more reachable for the fly fisher. He discusses the biology that brings bass
into shallow water and goes over food items, fly patterns and tactics.
He covers waters in California, as well as Oregon and Mexico. He also has
a bonus section that briefly looks at Brown Trout in Chile that behave like Bass.

Trent is originally from Alaska and now resides in Grass Valley. He has a degree
in Field Biology from UCSB and a doctorate from UCSF. He’s also a frequent
contributing writer to California Fly Fisher Magazine, and has been featured
on many radio and television programs. You might recognize him from his
column called “The Foraging Angler”. It’s a real treat to have him come and
share with us. It’s April, the Bass are starting to move into the shallows and
we want to be prepared, so don’t miss this program!

The CFFU meeting begins at 7 pm on Tuesday, April 5th and is located at the RICHARD T. CONZELMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 2201 Cottage Way, Sacramento. The Center is in the Howe Avenue Park close to Howe Avenue. Starting at 6:15 pm is a fly tying demonstration by a club member.
