I was given a Rio Flight Skagit 425gms but I do not know which end is the front. One end has the 425 designation (Rio 425). Is this the front or back. Are all Rio Flight Skagits marked the same way?

From your title I thought you were referring to a steelhead rifle on the American river. Sorry.

Anthony,

No not all heads are marked the same. Maybe the new Max heads are but not the older Flight heads. The part that hooks up to the running line end is thinner than the part that hooks up to the tips.

On the older Flights, the writing goes back. All of the new Max lines, the line sizes are on the front. Reasoning: when the line is on your reel, you can now see what you have. Airflo was way ahead of Río on this one; they have always had their numbers on the front with a black tag on the back.
