Happy New Year all. January 1st really only means one thing to me…… Small Streams are open. I love fishing these gems. It reminds me of Christmas. Its like presents under the tree, you spend days just looking at them wondering whats in them then finally the day comes when you get to open them! Sometimes we are disappointed with the contents of the gift but sometimes we are not. This year we are VERY HAPPY.
My guest did really well getting into 15 fish or so. Our big fish for the day was a 21"SLAB followed by a 19" and a couple 17" the rest were in 13"- 14"range. One of the nice things was we caught no "dinks" all fish were at least 13". A few of these fish were "RED HOT".
