While at the Northwest Fly Tying Expo in Portland, OR, last month I watched a talented tyer turn out flies similar to the one below. I don't recall his name, and if you are reading this, please send me a message. Even though I've been tying for about 62 years I'm still learning and hopefully will be able to do so for many years.

I will be demonstrating this fly at the Sacramento ISE show next month on Saturday afternoon. Please drop by and introduce yourself if you make it there.

Here are three pictures of a new style of a Green Drake dry that I am working on to perfect. So far they are progressing but I still have some work to do before they will be of display quality. By the way, the hook is a new one to me, called an Umbrella Hook. The fly is about one inch long, not counting tail.

Neat looking fly, Charlie! Looks tricky to tie but I bet that thing would fish extremely well.

Wow that looks ultra real. How long does a tie like that take?
