It's been raining all night.....the warm kind.....The El Nino kind...
Half the snow in town melted.
River is up a bit and off-color. Nice to see water though....even if it's running off.....
I would say it's blown, except I have fished successfully in these conditions (no risers though...).
Fish the edges......
Below Hirschdale I think there is water enough for folks to wet a line.......upstream of Trout Creek, (in town) is closed for the winter.
Water temp is around 38 but may still drop some. Air temp is barely 32.
Starting to snow now...maybe we will get back what we lost.
I'd wait a day......fish aren't crazy about rapid temp changes, what I call a flash melt......
Winter bugs are in session, Baetis and Midges......
Update12/10/15
I read water is flowing out of Tahoe (.65 cfs)....It's a start...
But USGS flows below Boca show near 500 cfs and dropping..when they stabilize for a day or so...go for it.
Roads are a bit slippery, and you should bring a coat....a change of dry clothes is always a good idea...
River access/parking is still good.
Wanted to say that I will be expanding this season to drift boat guide the Yuba and Lower Sac as well.
It will be "fish on" till late May when I head back to Idaho and TRR for the summer....(I'm hooked...)
Give me a call if I can help...
Jim
