Very cool, I have seen that with mahi and ono getting after malolo, flying fish. That is why we run blue white, purple white lures and flies. Mems.

Mems,

Blue and white was large for us last year in Loreto....However lots of the other guys stuck with the Pink Chicken.....

Watching those Dorado get after the flying fish should excite you....it does me for sure, I guess that's why I spend a Month a year chasing Dorado....can't wait

Hey Carl, yeah pink white looks like squid when they flash color. Good in the morning. I would like to make a fly that changes colors, some of the big GT plugs are holographic now and change colors. Love big mahi fired up and flashing blue green as the put up the dorsal and chase bait. Don.

Don,

Most of us guys in Loreto start off with dark flies like blue and white in the early AM or especially if it overcast or cloudy, as the sun breaks through the clouds we then switch to Pink and white, we now also use my Green and yellow baby dorado fly in the bright sun shine also.

When we do locate a pack of Dorado and throw in a few sardines for chum, it usually looks like what you seen in the video, those big green heads slicing through the water and exploding on your fly, what a rush. nothing like a Dorado to clean your clock :)

The small fishing town of Loreto on the Sea of Cortez, Baja, Mexico in July is a huge tradition for catching Dorado/Mahi Mahi/ Dolphin fish.

We had annual group Kiene trips there for many decades.

I got to go twice, once was just OK and the second time it was crazy good.

Carl has been going there annually for decades too.

Hi Bill,

Yea been going to Loreto a very long time, I started off on a one week trip, then the following year I went for two weeks, it was then 3 weeks, now it's a month.

No matter what the weather does, we seem to always catch Dorado-sailfish-marlin and roosters, some years it's a little lean on one species but heavier on the other species. Last year when everybody was crying in Baja, we were still had some 60 fish days per Panga, not all the days were that good, but Loreto still out fished most places that I know of.

Our group has been going so long to the same place (Oasis hotel) we know all the short cuts and book direct with the hotel, NOBODY goes to Mexico cheaper then our guys. We also have the best captains and best rooms due to our seniority.

Anybody in Kiene's world that wants to join us or wants any information please email me, and remember our prices are dirt cheap due too we don't have a group leader or middle man. Our group goes wholesale all the way. :)

A few years back my buddy made this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKyTIW2TjYc
