Had some work to do in the morning in Truckee / Tahoe, ended up linking with Gilligan and fishing now that there's a bit more water moving around. So glad to see things getting back in shape up there. I still think you need to connect with someone who knows the area not just to catch fish, but to focus on water that's in shape and ethically ok to get back on. Seriously amazing day, learned how to tight line without an indicator (stuck the bow on my second drift), and FINALLY stuck my first brown after 10+ years of fly fishing. Not kidding. It's been this constant joke that if there are 100 fish, and 99 of them are browns, I'll find the one bow. Checked off the list finally.

Gregg, I see some of your posting and you can obviously fish so it was probably just a string of bad luck. Glad its over…. Gilligan is the best. Can't say enough good things about him. Glad you found some good water and had a nice day.

Looks like I could be skiing over Thanksgiving instead of fishing. We are in for a nasty cold front with snow and ice down to low levels. Most of the mtn rivers will be below freezing. ALthough I'm pretty pumped. Another foot possible over the passes. Its looking like winter and we aren't even eating turkey yet. God we need it.
