Going to Jurassic Lake,Argentina in two weeks and would appreciate any advice on the fishing, flies etc. Will be staying at the lake and flying into the lodge. After forty five years of flyfishing this is almost, nearly, close to the bottom of my bucket list. P.S. married to the best wife ever!

My friend's dad has fished there and he's shown me some hawg rainbow pics from there.

I think the stock of fish planted there are the McCloud strain! Interesting that they get so big down there as nonnatives but they don't get as large in their native range when that was turned into stillwater (Shasta Lake).

Good luck & have fun,

Since you are flying in it is Jurassic lake lodge. I have not fished there but they fish the river mouth. For the lake use scuds, nymphs, wooly buggers, and simi seal leeches. Tie them on strong hooks and in sizes 6, 8, and 10. Best colors are black and olive. If you fish the lake small streamers in black or white. I can provide more info if you want but I am not home and typing on the iPad is brutal.
