Happy Halloween, went fishing this weekend and got this nice bluefinned trevally, papio.

Went offshore sunday with some friends and Kitt, my friends's on got this little, 120lbs blue marlin. It would have been a good one to catch on the fly. Too bad it hit the shotgun and they decided to take it. Right now I have some smoked marlin. Hope you all had a good weekend, Mems.

Way to go Don. Hopefully we'll see a few of those at Christmas Island only bigger :) Say, when does a papio become an omilu? No this isn't a trick question. I've seen Blue-fin Trevally in the 15lb.-20lb range. That one is the best eating size. I used to cook them with sour-sop when we had the condo at Keauhou.

Hey Tony, all the bluefinned are omilu. Papio are ulua when they get to 10bs. These are the bestsize, I skined and filletted both sides and friend it up crispy. I like the smaller ones whole pan fried as well. I skoked my share of the marlin in Korean BBQ sauce. it is pretty tasty. Hope you get a big ulua at CI. Don
