Our November speaker is Bill Forward and he will be presenting his program on “Fly Fishing Ice Out”. Fishing during this dramatic time period is something that relatively few know anything about, but Bill has been studying the seasonal phenomenon for years. He will guide us through it with the use of still and video photography and show us how to target these early season fish. He will cover locations, equipment, rigging, fly selection, safety and tactics.

It’s a special treat to have Bill come and speak because he’s a former CFFU Board Member and Coachman’s Award Winner! He’s also the current senior editor for Sierra Fly Fisherman Magazine, published author, featured speaker and most importantly a former high school and university biology instructor. His enthusiasm for our sport is boundless and together with Phil Rowley runs the California Stillwater School of Fly Fishing.

This promises to be a very special evening and a sort of “homecoming” for Bill. Be sure to thank him for coming and exemplifying the great spirit of CFFU!

The CFFU meeting begins at 7 pm on Tuesday November 3rd, and is located at the RICHARD T. CONZELMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 2201 Cottage Way, Sacramento. The Center is in the Howe Avenue Park close to Howe Avenue. Starting at 6:15 pm is a fly tying demonstration by a club member.

The Howe Avenue Park is located at the Northeast corner of Howe Avenue and Cottage Way. The entrance is on Cottage Way approximately 150 feet east of Howe Ave. across from Home Depot. Overflow parking is available at Home Depot. A map and more information are found at www.cffu.org.

Please join us for this presentation by Bill Forward.
