I heard that the mouth of the river closed recently. I've never heard of the Klamath closing. Does anyone know if it has reopened? Or a time frame for when it will open, from past experience?
Thanks

This only affects the mouth/river spit up 100 yards. Bill had a post on 9/18.

The bar re opened a few days ago. Low water and some other things caused the bar to build but it opened and the salmon guys killed it.

Jeff pm sent
Just got back Sunday from the lower Trinity and then down on the lower Klamath, as Taylor said the mouth reopened, I can confirm there's chrome down low in both rivers!

Hwchubb.....lol......Jeff and I had a conversation yesterday about it because I was up there last week.....what I really meant was, it will probably be better up there next week than it was when I was there.
Jeff, I take it back....lol. Good luck though :)

"We should hit it just perfect" seems to shut it off for me faster than a cold front with a full moon. I'll be on the Trinity Sun-Mon, but luckily I've been told it's a leaner run, so my expectations have been lowered adequately.
20 years fishing the Trinity, almost a decade of driving to So / Central OR every 4-6 weeks on business, and I have still never cast a line on the Klamath. I think I'm missing something...

Hey IBL,
Don't worry, Jeff will just blame me as he always does. :)
He's my unpaid guide for next week, so lots of pressure on him!
