Finally fished Rock Creek in July of 2014 with David Armocido.

It was my finest walk and wading, trout stream dry fly day ever.

Congrats on becoming a grandpa!! Great photos of Levi. He's a looker. Your photos show lots of good fishing up that way. I've never been up there. Another place on the bucket list.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments. Having a grand kid has me psyched for trips with him in the future. I love trout fishing, and I think he will too.

Aloha Don,.... When he's old enough you can teach him to surf, too. He's one lucky grandkid.

Congrats Mems! Nice trip report as well. Got a couple of days on upper Rock Creek early July...my first. What a creek. The forks of the CDA look like something I should have hit on the way out or back as well. I was pretty limited with a 1 and 4 year old in tow lol. Congrats on your grandson again.

Aloha Fish on, yes the north fork of the CDA is very beautiful and an under fished stream. Gin clear water, it reminds me of Kelly creek, except much easier to access.

Thanks for sharing once again! I will for sure be making the stop up that way the next time through. Did you happen to notice if there were many unimproved or other places to camp up there? Also, did you head up from the Kingston exit? Even this little bit of info would be extremely helpful when heading through...which is usually how it ends up for me lol. If I could plan to stop and fish the afternoon and evening...camp and head on up the road that would be great.

Cheers

Hey Ty, we got of 90 at kingston. There had been fires up there and they closed the road. So we just stopped and fished down towards the campground. It was low water so we just hit good looking deeper runs. One spot was loaded with fish rising and we fished there in the evening. It saved the day for my wife, she got 5 in 10 minutes. My friend Dean said it was better on up the road. You could camp and hit it all day long. Hope this helps. Next time I might float the spokane. I didn't get over to Rocky Ford or Crabcreek. Maybe next time, hard to go other places with montana so close by.
