The Lower Sac continues to fish fair. There are definitely still some big fish being caught. Last week covered water from Posse Grounds down to Balls Ferry. For the most part fish are eating small mayfly patterns and some caddis stuff at times. One nice change has been the size of the fish we are finding below Anderson, a lot more fish in the 16" range are coming to the net. The water from Posse Ground down to the Hwy44 bridge opened on the 1st and has been CROWDED but down river we had the river to ourselves many days………….NICE. IF you want to fish the upper section but don't want crowds go out around 5pm or so and fish until dark, you will get some dry fly action as a bonus!
P.S. The egg bite is right around the corner. If the "experts" are right about "El Nino" rivers could be chocolate milk by November. My advice is go early.
