On August 4th, Harold Kessemeier will be presenting a program on the Rogue River. This amazing fly fishing destination lies but a short distance over the border into Oregon. It was the first river in the United States to receive official designation as “wild and scenic.” Harold will discuss gear, flies, techniques, seasons, regulations, guides, shuttles, directions, lodging and other local points of interest. He will talk about the variety of fish but will concentrate on the summer and fall runs of Steelhead that can often be incredible! Harold has fished his entire life, the past 25 years exclusively with a fly. He knows this river!

For an added treat, we will also be hearing from retired DFG Fishery Biologist, Dennis Lee. He will begin the program by introducing us to the Half Pound Steelhead and setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting evening!

The CFFU meeting starts at 7 pm on Tuesday August 4th, and is located at the RICHARD T. CONZELMANN COMMUNITY CENTER, 2201 Cottage Way, Sacramento. The Center is in the Howe Avenue Park close to Howe Avenue. Starting at 6:15 pm is a fly tying demonstration by a club member.

The Howe Avenue Park is located at the Northeast corner of Howe Avenue and Cottage Way. The entrance is on Cottage Way approximately 150 feet east of Howe Ave. across from Home Depot. Overflow parking is available at Home Depot. A map and more information is found at www.cffu.org.

Please join us and for the presentations by Harold Kessemeier and Dennis Lee.
