The local guides and lodge owners are really pushing for the Government to make it practically impossible for the do it yourselfer. Licences at $20 per day but get this....The guides and lodges get to decide where you can and can't fish.

My last guided experience in the Bahamas was interesting. On Long Island. I won't name the guide or the resort because I liked the resort. The guide showed up wearing a lot of gold chains like an Olympic sprinter and drove a new Hummer. The attitude is that all americans are filthy rich and the fees of $550 and up per day are justified. You fished "on the clock". I was not impressed.
