Recently I was talking with some Delta fly fishers and Delta guides.

Most are getting on the water at sunup, around 5:00 am and quitting around noon.

Small Stripers, LMB and SMB have all been good for them.....

This time of year you can fish during the week before and after work.

I watch the 10 day weather looking for some cooler period too.

King salmon are swimming through the Delta now coming in from the ocean and heading up many Valley rivers to spawn or enter a hatchery.

I hear if you hook one while fishing for Stripers with a fly it can be pretty wild.



How many different species of fish have you caught on a fly in the Delta?

The list should be pretty long.....
