The weather on the Lower has been HOT. This last week was a nice change, not the thunderstorms and wind but the cooler weather. The fishing for the most part remains solid. Numbers of fish to the net each day are down from a few months ago but we are finding some really big fish. The hatches have been sparse so you really need to go through your fly box to find something they will eat. The dry fly fishing has been great in the evenings. Friday night we had a 20", 19" and 17" come to the net on dries so these aren't smolts. My advice to those who are thinking about fishing the Sac, go out around 4 and fish until dark.

Small stream fishing has been really good. Even after the flows went back down on the Moke fishing was great. Im still swinging buggers for these fish. Most days we are seeing about 20 fish to our. Most fish are in the 12-15" range. Flows are going up just a bit to around 270 cfs. As long as temps stay cool enough good fishing should continue.
