Lots of us do the same thing every summer. Why not try something different?

Fish our high country by back packing or take a horse/mule pack trip. Above 6,000 feet it will be cool.

Kennedy Meadow Pack Station, east of Stockton, CA, caters to fly fishers.

Go fly fish our Pacific coast. It will have salt water and fresh water opportunities. CA, OR or WA.

Go to Idaho/Montana for some great classic trout fishing.

Go to Alaska......June, July, August & September.

Fish more of the warm water fisheries. Bass and pan fish like it warm.

**I think most CA low to mid-elevation (below 6000 feet) fisheries will be too warm for trout.

Any other recommendations?

Sight fishing for carp is a hoot. And the opportunities are endless.

The delta has a ton to offer, as does the salt. This may be the best year in quite some time for fly caught tuna

Here's a web site for Daily Reservoir Storage that could help you to decide were to fish.

Here are some lake's or Reservoir's that has summer trout fishing, some of these lake are part of PGE or SMUD power generating net work, so you need to fish around these outlets or power stations. I haven't fished some of these lakes this year so you be taking a chance that you can still fish trout fish it.
