I'll be in Dunsmuir in 3 weeks, I'll give it a try. But if it isn't "Killer" I'll be looking for you!

This burger I guarantee. And some of the best cole slaw you've ever had.

I'll admit up front that I'm not a craft beer expert. I think they have their own and also rotate in beers from NoCal and Oregon.
For whatever reason, my stomach doesn't do well with the heavier beers, so I usually stick to the pilsners. I had a pilsner in Eugene last week that I really liked, but can't find locally, Heater Allen.

I'll look forward to reviews.

If I would have known today was National Burger Day, I would have driven up to Dunsmuir.
Now I need to research when National Pizza Day is so I have an excuse to either fly up to Anchorage (Moose's Tooth) or fly to New Haven. Can I write that off?

Scotty, if Etna Brewing distributes that far south, get one. I used to deliver liquor way up north on the Yreka route and Etna was my go to dinner beer. You'll fall in love with the Upper Sac., it's a river with everything you want in a trout stream.

2 more weeks and I will be there. But only staying 2 nights in Dunsmuir. Gotta get to Oregon!

It is a well-known fact, Scott, that if you eat the Brewery Burger you catch more fish.
Have a great trip.

And you might want to save a bit of the burger and rub it on whatever fly you are using. Would that be legal?

And don't forget the cole slaw.

And don't forget the cole slaw.

I use to hate cole slaw until I tried some of Charlie G's. That made me convert to liking cole slaw, so I will give theirs a try.

I'm not a huge cole slaw fan either, but I like theirs.

BTW, I sent the brewery an e-mail telling them about this thread and that you would be coming in to critique their burger around the 14th and that they had better not let me down.

I am a hamburger snob, so I am a very picky eater when to comes to a "great" hamburger. But I will give an honest opinion.

They asked how they would know when you come in. I said "Look for a really handsome young guy."

Dunsmuir Brewery runs a little online registration thing. They send you emails with their specials and stuff. You can get a couple bucks off a beer and burger, etc. Also, the ladies their make homemade pie - sometimes. If they made some, it's highly recommended you have some. We went over to the little grocery store and bought a gallon of vanilla ice cream and they made us pie ala mode. I love little towns.

So, DLJeff, just in case Scott hits them on an off day (or Scott is having an off day), can you confirm for me that they have killer burgers?

Yeah, the burgers are top notch. The ribs are above average, as are the fish tacos. The beer is excellent too and the staff is a hoot. One thing - they don't have a frier so no French fries with your burger. I don't recall having a bad meal in Dunsmuir. Sengthong's, McQuirw', Cornerstone Bakery, Burger Barn....

I'm glad you liked the burger. Hope the fishing was just as good.
