Going to be near Flagstaff for the next week or so and might have some time to do some fishing. I have heard that Mormon Lake has pike in it. Anyone have any info on guides or shops in the area? I also know that there is some good smallie fishing to be had in the area. I've fished Oak Creek in the past but didn't see much. I have heard that the Verde has a good population. Are this fish behind private land or on public waters?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If I had the time and a vehicle I'd hit Upper Lake Mary for pike. I've heard it can be good at times and I think there's a video on it YOUTUBE. We were in New Mexico last week and fished Tiger Musky at Bluewater Lake and was wishing we had more time to explore the Flagstaff for those pike.

Depending on the amount of time you have, you can head east on 40 then south on 77 to the Mogollon Rim and fish for Apache Trout in the White Mountains. Some fishing is on AZ state land, the other on the Apache Res. Different licenses for both, so plan accordingly. Beautiful country down that way!
