Amazing the fishers would scuttle her to me. Might be easier to dump their ill-gotten catch overboard during the night?

Sad to see anyone poaching fish and sinking a ship to cover it up.

I guess wherever there is a profit to be made there will be those to jump on the opportunity.

I have no idea what the penalties are for poaching on the high seas but I too found it difficult to believe that the crew deliberately scuttled their craft.... :confused:

I was just thinking that the vessel would be worth lots more than the fines associated with any illegal harvest. Not sure though, but really interesting how it went down in any case!

I'll never be sad to read about lessons learned due to fishing enforcement crimes.
