Visiting in early June. I'm looking for surf fishing opportunities here. I'm checking with the local tackle shops but still needing ideas. PMs welcome. Tanks, P

If you Google the title of this post, a number of videos come up for surf fishing in that area. One caution, I've been down there (at both beaches) in the same time frame you've mentioned and found the beaches to be very crowded with swimmers/surfers, etc. If you're planning on fly casting, I'd advise fishing at dawn and quitting early or finding somewhere else to fish.

Either way, good luck. It's very relaxing to fish off the piers there.

Thank you Darian, My brother and nephew (purpose of the visit) are spin fishers and I think I still have an Ugly Stick at my son-in-law's house. Maybe I'll bring it along too.

A friend used to own the Hole In The Wall Fly Shop in SLO (closed I believe), and in addition to surf perch, he used to get corbina that far north. I second Darian's low light suggestion, especially if you can hit it just after low tide. Either way, enjoy.

Probably a bit north of his normal haunts, but you might check out the following link to a guide in Ventura County. He posts reports and has some flies available. Also fishes all over that area:
