Its been a busy winter so far with lots of two handed spey casting interest with lighter weight spey and switch rods in the 3-5 weight sizes from 10'6" - 11'6" in length. In fact, way more than previous years. Anglers are quickly learning two handed rods are the perfect tool for trout and steelhead in the 1-5 lb range which can be found year round in several valley rivers like the Lower Sac near Redding and Red Bluff, Yuba River (Trout & Steelhead) and moutain rivers like the Truckee River (Trout), East Fork Carson (Trout).

It can be difficult figuring out which rod and line to match up so I put together a video to help understand how to choose and assemble the correct spey lines, tips and leaders (System Setups). Rio spey and switch lines are featured. This video series also contains my best two handed spey casting instruction on film so far. It has been a huge hit online since its release last spring. The equipment section was even filmed at Kienes Fly Shop.

This is streaming for you to view anywhere, anytime.

I think that there is a big interest in lighter two-handed Spey fly rods now.

Thanks Jeff......I will watch those videos.
