Cooks Valley Launch on SFER

Does anyone have experience using the "Cooks Valley" launch on the S. Fork or the Eel? I'm looking at maps that indicate that it's private, but I've also heard that the owner doesn't mind people using it as long as they leave their rigs up on the main road, rather than the gravel bar.

Does anyone have any insights on this?
