Peerless # 5 Salmon model For Sale

Brand new, unlined.. never had a line on it. Reel is RHW and comes with not only the leather pouch but the original shipping box, Lubriplate lube and instructions/diagrams, and a Thank You letter from the Peerless Co. The Salmon # 5 features a knurled drag knob on the backplate with numerous detents to contral drag pressure. It is a self cleaning, non sticking drag system with a pawl/click system that totally prevents overrun.

Reel is brand new, no scratches or marks of any kind. The screws have never been touched. The spool screw has never been removed.

The #5 Salmon model is 3.250 diameter, 1.750 width, and weighs 7.8 ounces. Will hold a WF7F and 150yds of 20lb backing.

That is gorgeous. I don't know anything about reels other than the ones I fish. Is this old? Is this more of a collectors item than something to fish?

Peerless just retired and stopped making reels. I almost went with the 4A for my Spey. Nice reel you got there!

To me it is a fishing reel.. a tool designed to help me land really big fish. I just haven't been back to Michigan for salmon and steelhead in a while and can't go in the next few years... so off it goes.

It could land an Orca and look good doing it. These reels take a licking and keep on ticking.
