Dec 2014 Redfish

[FISHEYE]

A few photos from my redfish trip (Dec 8-13) to Port Sulphur, LA with my buddy Vernon and Capt. Rich Waldner. We hit it right with 6 days of great, SUNNY weather. We caught over 30 redfish including 15 over 20#. All were caught sight fishing with most fish in less than a foot of water. It was my best redfish trip ever and I am already looking forward to next year.

WOW.....nice reds.....are these your avg size reds for this time of the year.

We caught more bulls (>20#) this year because the weather was so good. If it is not sunny or too windy you can't see the fish to even make a cast. In 6 days we caught half of the number of bulls that Rich caught in all November. Oct-Jan is the time of the year that the big fish come into the marsh. We also caught lots of 10-19# fish and this is more the size of fish we normally catch. We see lot of small fish too (10#) but catch few of these because they are in just inches of water and are very spooky.

WOW!!! You guys sure hit it right. Those are beautiful fish. I read your post on Blantons BB, earlier. Wasn't familiar with the place you chose to stay. Could you describe it??? Thanks for sharing.... :cool:

Darian, the easiest is go to their website: http://www.woodlandplantation.com/index.cfm It was a great place. We stayed in a condo but next year could not get that so we'll be in the plantation house. Food was excellent.
